I previously did a tutorial about my highlight/contour routine last June. My routine has changed up and improved a lot so I decided to update this tutorial on what I use today. I really do love experimenting with makeup and finding the right mix of products that work best for me. It’s hard when you have a skin tone that make up artists aren’t used to working with.
So, here we go!
Here are the products you will need for this tutorial.

2. Beauty Sponges, the blue is a Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge and the pink is a Sephora Sculpting Makeup Sponge
3. MAC Studio Conceal and Correct Palette in “Dark” (love this way better than Makeup Forever’s, the colors just seems to work better with my skin tone)
5. Elf Small Stipple Brush
6. Makeup Forever Blush Powder in N162 (for some reason the actual packaging says Blush Powder but Sephora labels it as eye shadow…. MAC’s Raizin blush is a great alternative)
Step 1: Take a small amount of the MAC Prep and Prime Face Protection Visage and rub all over your face to use as a face primer.
Step 2: Your face has a natural highlight, so this step is going enhance that highlight. Take the pointy tip of the beauty blender and choose a light color in the beauty palette that you feel will work for you. (I am still experimenting but right now I mix the bottom two colors on the right)

Use it to highlight your the area under your eye but above your cheek bones, the bridge of your nose, your cupids bow, your forehead, and your chin. (see arrows below for reference)

Step 3: Apply liquid foundation using the Sephora beauty sponge. I like to do these steps in this order because I want the highlight to look more natural but I want to dark, contoured parts to pop more and be the focus. So AFTER you apply your foundation…..

Step 4. Take a darker color in the MAC palette (I use the darkest color, middle on the right)

and apply to the cheek bones with the stiple brush and on the sides of my forehead, opposite the highlight. (a great alternative is the Covergirl Queen Collection compact foundation in Q555

Now if you are like me and want and even bolder contour , you can apply blush on top of this. I just started using Makeup Forever eye shadow/blush in N162.
and voila! You are done. Here is my final look.

Hope this updated tutorial helps you! Another product I want to try is Ben Nye Banana Powder, I hear its amaze-balls. I will do a review on it if I am able to get my hands on some.
