As much as I love to wear black, I’m re-discovering my love of color this spring! Bright & bold colored items make great staple pieces and you can make an even bolder statement by color blocking and pairing bold colored pieces together.
Beasts of the southern wild
I wore this on my last full day in NOLA. I’m sure I’ve said this before but I really love remixing vintage African pieces with different styles to re-create more modern looks. These shorts were originally men’s shorts that my mother would sell in the early 90s. I’ve got em in white too. I like how comfy and cute they are, especially with the kente detail.

I love love love the monochrome trend and think its perfect for spring! (even though, admitedlly, the weather wasn’t very “spring-like” when these were taken on our third day in NOLA)
Rainy Mardi Gras
We were soooo excited to come to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, however, to our dismay, it was cold and rainy when we got there. =[ But it was the last day of Mardi Gras, so we YOLO’d it and beasted through the winter weather. People were still out and about and goin wild . Peep some pics below.
