I have been practicing and practicing trying to get it right. I thought I’d share my results with you guys along with what other lip colors could look great with this look.

Lets start off with some inspiration, …basically what this is supposed to look like.

@MakeupShayla does some really great eye work, I’m obsessed with her Instagram page.

Now lets get into it, here is my first attempt at it for this post.BD-SE5  BD-SE4

To be honest, the eye shadow got a little funky when I was trying to put my lashes on and my eyes started watering  (does anyone else have to put their lashes under, on their waterline instead of on top of their lashes?) , and I just didn’t do the steps in the order that I wanted to. My highlight is also a little bolder than I normally like. But it was an OK attempt I think.

Products used:

Eyebrow: MAC eyebrow pencil in Stud and Spiked, MAC Fluidline in Dip down

Face: MAC prep and prime face protection visage, Makeup Forever HD Foundation in 178, MAC Studio Conceal and Correct Palette in Dark, Ben Nye Powder in Camel, Makeup Forever Blush Powder in 162

Eyes:

Nars Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base,

Highlight/Browbone- Urban Decay’s “Buck” eye shadow from Naked Palette

Lid- Urban Decay eye shadow in Blackout

Crease- MAC Embark

Inner Corner- MAC Amber Lights

House of Lashes Faux Lashes in Pixie Luxe

Lips:

MAC Half ‘n Half lipstick, MAC Cork & Chestnut lip liner, MAC Clear lipglass

My second attempt – i like this look better. I also like the color in my inner corner a little better than Amber Lights.

And if you wanna go super vamp, pair this eye look with a dark purple. Here I am wearing Milani’s Black Cherry.

It’s gonna take some time perfecting this look but I think I’m getting there. How do you guys feel about black smokey eyes? Too much drama or not enough? Let me know if you have any tips!

Heres a great tutorial I found.
